Make sure they are the same if you can’t see them look at the number of stars or dots. Look at the mail server settings boxes for password and port settings they’re the ones you need to delete and reapply. Doing a send and receive manually or waiting on the scheduled send and receive on the client does not update new mail items.

To set up a mail account, we can set the same standard name "mail.mydomain.com" as the incoming and outgoing mail server. I was a little hesitant but went ahead and let it completely remove all the synced items from the account off of my iPhone.

I have several email accounts / IMAP set-up. So looking at my tree of connection status shows disconnected email accounts one inbox might have 10 mail total and 3 unread form earlier. It's not until I click on that folder I will then see the 10 and 3 and two second later it will sync and new ones will populate. The issue is; just looking at my email accounts and the numbers shown next to the folders I cant tell if there is new mail or not until I click on them.

By web app, I mean webmail accessed via Firefox or Chrome for (say) Windows 10, not smartphone app. My comment about 3rd party email -- is a 3rd email app called Email - Edison Mail (from the App Store) I set up my mail accounts in the app and everything works as it should. I’ve tried repairing the data file, removing and re-adding the account, rebooting, re-installing Outlook/Office, running SFC/DISM, all to no avail. Their webmail works fine, and when this account is added to the Windows Mail app, everything works perfectly. One word of warning - you shouldn’t set that interval to more often than maybe every 10 minutes, every 5 would be the absolutel minimum I’d set. If you set too often you run the risk that Outlook could start the next download before finishing the previous download and that could cause duplicate messages and other possible issues.

See the attached picture for the Properties window for a user-created folder. When you right-click one of the folders that doesn't show new mail unless you select it, Properties, is the box 'When getting new messages... It's usually not checked by default for IMAP to minimize network traffic. Subscribing to a folder makes it appear in the Folder Pane, but one might not always want a folder to be synced automatically if it is mainly an archive folder or one that seldom receives new mail. This limits the amount of network traffic and improves performance for syncing important folders. While outlook supports IMAP, it doesn’t really want to work with it, so not surprised you are having some troubles. I deleted the Apple Mail app from the phone, reinstalled from the App Store. It's just a little bit technical, but we have an IMAP proxy that chooses from some different backend IMAP servers. If the user account ends up on an old IMAP server implementation (in that case f.i. a Cyrus imapd 2.4.17), IMAP Client of iOS 18 Mail app doesn't work.

IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)

Looks like at this point there still is not a fix? I am stumped as it the rest of our team. Paying $6 per month vs our current $1.50 per month is a pretty big increase on a yearly basis. We wouldn’t use many of the features included in office 365 to warrant paying the additional cost. Varatex - Outlook in Safe mode did not seem to help.



Everything works great for the most part, except with our IMAP users. IMAP users are not receiving new email into their inboxes unless they either click off of Inbox and back on, or close outlook and reopen. These are the common reasons why the IMAP folder is not syncing.
